Today it got a LOT more real for all of our young Stingers!
It was time for their first scrimmages against other teams of similar ages and weights.
We headed over the hill to
Newbury Park H.S.
This is a photo of the NPHS Varsity football team at practice. The Panther in the red jersey is their highly touted Freshman QB Brady Smigiel.
This was definitely NOT the team that the Stingers were scrimmaging tonight. The Panthers open their season this coming Friday night at Golden Valley H.S.
The Stingers were to be part of three scrimmages tonight. The first two were against teams representing the Simi Valley Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have about 45 players in their program, thus the two teams. The third team on the slate was the squad from the Newbury Park Steelers.

Our Head Coach had words
of praise for Jacob's hustle

He really seems to
love playing the game

His effort in the second
scrimmage was good again
At Nose Tackle again vs. Newbury Park
As this blurry photo attests,
it was getting dark so this final
scrimmage was cut short
All in all, I thought he had a good experience mostly because of his consistent effort on every snap.
Meanwhile, back in EuroBall . . .
A look at the remaining schedule
of each of the seven teams still in
the 2022 ELF playoff hunt
Our beloved Southern Conference leading Barcelona Dragons (7-2) finish with two difficult regular season games after playing the Stuttgart Surge (0-9) this weekend. Those final two contests will be against against Central Conference leading Vienna Vikings (8-1) and the Northern Conference leading Hamburg Sea Devils (8-1).
Today was a GOOD day!
