Camarillo Stingers Practices Continue

Tues.-Wed., Sept. 30-31, 2022

The Stingers are not ones to sit on their laurels after their season opening win last Saturday, thus they were back to hard work on Tuesday.

Tuesday saw Jacob at RB for
an outside force/contain drill

Jacob channeled his inner
Eric Dickerson on this scamper

On his second run the Defense
channeled their inner '85 Chicago Bears

On the first of our daily two laps
around Freedom Park during practice,
I took this somewhat artsy photo

Home Opener this Saturday at Noon
vs. the Oxnard Knights

Milling around waiting for a coach
to start a period of Pass Offense vs. air

Jacob lined up at the Tackle spot,
the farthest player to the left

Here he is making mincemeat
out of the Defensive End

Now he's at Tight End

He cleanly caught the only two passes that were thrown to him.

I was especially happy to see him turn and run full speed to the end zone after each of his grabs.

Always hustling is a good habit to get into.

Once again, Jacob just
rag dolled that poor Defensive End

Jacob was ECSTATIC to have
five of his Rams listed in the
NFL's Top 30 Players

Our beloved Barcelona Dragons
have a tough regular season ending game Saturday vs. the Hamburg Sea Devils

After this weekend, the ELF's
Playoffs will be announced

The Northern Conference Champion Hamburg Sea Devils (10-1) and the Central Conference Champion Vienna Vikings (10-1) will be the #1 and #2 seeds one way or the other after this weekend.

The Southern Conference Champion Barcelona Dragons (8-3) are the playoffs #3 seed regardless of the weekends results.

As for the lone Wild Card playoff berth four teams are mathematically in the hunt all with 7-4 records. Of these four clubs, only the Tirol Raiders and Frankfurt Galaxy have a realistic chance of making it into the post-season. Realistically, the Berlin Thunder and Rhein Fire have no chance of winning any possible tie-breaker against the Raiders or Galaxy.

Chance happenings can be fun . . .

Yesterday I was browsing at a Barnes & Noble bookstore before a meeting with Westlake H.S. Athletic Director Carnell Henderson regarding next week's 40th Anniversary Football Reunion of the 1982 Marmonte League Championship team.

I stopped by their magazine rack to see if they had the newest issue of one of my favorite publications and the answer was a resounding . . .

YES!

That ITALIA! featured a lead article on Varese, our beloved Italian home town during the 2018, 2019 and Covid shortened 2020 seasons was such a treat!

We've really got to get back there sometime soon.
