This turned out to be a productive day despite the heat wave showing no signs of abating anytime soon.
It started with the packing of three boxes/Care Packages with a total of 20 donated shoulder pads from Agoura H.S., destination . . .
. . . ROMANIA!
A special thank you top Doug Dagan, the owner of Dagan Sales and Marketing, for donating three odd shaped boxes made specifically for shipping shoulder pads to our overseas cause.
Tomorrow I will drive these over
to the Polonez Parcel Shipping offices
in Oxnard for the slow but inexpensive
boat ride to Europe from New Jersey
As the Special Teams Coach for the
Brazilian National Team, I need to know
these things to be more culturally literate
I found this item on the
internet to be hilarious
Lunch with my bride at El Rio's
finest dining establishment
It was my way of saying THANKS yet again for her help and patience in preparing God only knows how many of these Care Packages over the past dozen years.
On to the Stingers practice . . .

his Pursuit Angles
At 5:30 p.m., the weather at Mission Oaks Park was quite bearable.

the same Pursuit Drill
Back on Defense, this was
a much improved effort by Jacob

Time to put that Pursuit Drill
he practiced into action
I thought that this was his best practice of the season by far!
He is starting to really get comfortable playing the game, starting to think less and react more.
It is always a good sign for a Defensive Lineman when the Offensive Line coach has to continually stop the flow of the practice to review how to block you. This happened often during the first 15 minutes of the team scrimmage. Eventually, Jacob was being at least double teamed and on several occasions triple teamed. Thus other now unblocked defenders were able to make plays.
As Jacob noted after practice, in Los Angeles Rams parlance this is known as The Aaron Donald Effect.
At the condition phase of the practice at the end of the day, the coaches had the boys run laps around an area about 20 yards wide and 35 yards long. Jacob was the leader of the pack and lapped several of his teammates.
He is in excellent shape as it turns out, much better than his Poppo I'm afraid to say.
I was so proud of Jacob today!
