Mon. & Tues., Sept. 5-6, 2002
The heat did not take a break on Monday's Labor Day holiday but we sure did.
Thus, after attending Jacob's football game on Saturday, Michael and Jacob's Civil war reenactment on Sunday and enduring Laurie's general malaise all weekend in the sweltering heat wave that has been here for way too long, we all opted to do absolutely nothing on Monday.
Good choice.
On Tuesday I had business at
our local AAA office
Before the invention of GPS and the internet, a AAA Triptik was the only way to travel by automobile with any hope of not getting lost on a vacation road trip.
The young lady who I met with at AAA had this relic from another nostalgic time sitting on her desk.
Good times.
In the evening the Camarillo Stingers
were back at it but at a new practice
venue, Mission Oaks Park
The Stingers had been practicing at Freedom Park most of the Summer at the farthest western end of Camarillo. This park is close to our house but a long drive from Michael's home.
Mission Oaks Park is located at the farthest eastern end of our fair city. This park is basically in Michael's back yard but now I have to leave the house a tad earlier to get to practice on time.
What is Old #99 up to now?
As it turns out, our starting Center was not at practice tonight so the Stingers staff was breaking in a Guard to fill in the spot for the evening.
Jacob opted to be the Nose Tackle to help the new Center get used to his new position.
Both the NT and the C have
yet to take a forward step
Now, that's MUCH better!
Coach Anthony is a Godsend for our
young WR, TE, RB, NT, OLB, CB and FS

Holding on for dear life!

Jerome Bettis and Jim Taylor are both resting easy tonight.
In EuroBall news . . .
Who will win the argument and
claim the title of being the best
Italian to play the QB position in
the last 42 years?
Interesting to see Ricky Crosta, the Varese Skorpions QB in 2021 and 2022, in the mix.
If only we were in Madrid
in late October
The European League of Football
Playoffs start this weekend
The #2 seeded Vienna Vikings (10-2)
host the #3 seeded Barcelona Dragons (8-4)
on Sunday
I'll be rooting for the Dragons to finally beat the Vikings after two close regular season losses.
