Packing Sunday, the Prelude to a Maui Monday

Sunday, March 1, 2026

Before we get into today's activities, let's take a quick look back to the end of yesterday's Camarillo Cosmos practice meet.

I really liked this photo that
Vanessa took of Michael and
Jacob as they left Camarillo H.S.

Speaking of Michael and Jacob, they drove us down to the Hilton Hotel next to Los Angeles International Airport this afternoon.

We had decided that the best thing to do before our 8:30 a.m. Monday morning flight on Hawaiian Airlines to Maui was to spend the night at this venue and not ask anyone to drive us to LAX at Zero Dark Thirty.

Mahalo, Michael and Jacob!

Ten days in Paradise with only
a carry-on and a back pack each

Efficiency knowing that the condo we are staying in has a washing machine.

The Hilton was impressive

It has a nice Lobby area

Dinner with a mysterious woman

The fascinating skies as seen
through our room's window

Yes, we are near the LAX
flight path

On to EuroBall news and results . . .

The Firenze Red Lions are
Italy's new team in the
American Football League of Europe

EuroBall friend, Bart Iaccarino, will be the Red Lions' General Manager. What a great adventure for Bart.

Hmmmmm . . .

. . . so, in 1962, a group of men decided
that this would be an AWESOME helmet
look for the Denver Broncos

Then I remembered, this is the franchise that used  vertical stripes on their games socks in 1960 and 1961, their first two seasons in the old AFL.

Go figure.

Imagine that,
an EIGHT team conference

Who knew?

Munich anyone?

Appealing but I'm on a diet.

Maui, HERE WE COME!
