Another gorgeous day in Paradise greeted us . . .
. . . early this morning in our Kihei getaway
This was another reason for us
to greet the morning with a smile
In the morning, Mark had a doctor's appointment to attend and then he and Susie had a long homeowners' meeting to attend about what the future holds in store for their massive condo complex.
Secretly, Susie told us that the artist who had special order painted two local beach scenes for her as a surprise present for Mark, would be delivering them to the condo while they were out this morning.
Using the real cover story, that we were doing our laundry instead of attending their meeting, we stayed home and received the nice impressionist style paintings for her and then hid them in our bedroom.

After that, I opted to take a dip in the condo unit's nice, refreshing pool.
Once they returned from their meeting and we had some lunch in the condo in an attempt to whittle away at our refrigerators' growing left overs issues, we were off on a new adventure.
We headed Up-Country to the quaint village of . . .
Population 6,327
The first time that we visited Hawaii, this is the village that we called home. To this day, Makawao still holds many fine memories for us both.
This area is Maui's "Cowboy Country."

I always wonder what great pieces of art were created here by famed California based artist, Joanne, during her Blue Period spent in the Up-Country about a decade ago.

This small bakery offers delicious, but now strictly prohibited to me, cookies that come in assorted flavors.
They are a tad expensive at about $7.00 but, damn they taste good if my memory correctly and painfully reminded me.
I bought one for Mark and will live vicariously watching him devour it at some point.

We now headed back down to sea level to another of our favorite artsy villages, Paia, population 2,620.
I had bought one similar to the one seen here a couple of years ago and love it.
I found another nice one made in a men's size befitting of my sculpted body.
I was a happy camper.
It was finally time for dinner.

A good, relaxing day was coming to a close but we still had time to hit the condo complex's hot tub for a refreshing few minutes.
A another good day and we still have not gone to a thrift store in our four days on Maui. Keeping my fingers crossed.
