The fun, relaxation, fellowship and shopping just never stops on one of these BEAUTIFUL Maui days!
We started our Saturday at Starbuck's Kihei location for the ritual morning gathering of a group of Snow Birds from Canada, Oregon and Washington known as the "Maui Friends Group," to share a little coffee and a lot of seditious discourse.
The Resistance was strong here.

Good times, INDEED!
Coffee was nice, but we needed some real sustenance.

A great hole-in-the wall dining spot that is warm and friendly serving solid comfort food for breakfast.
In the past, I found their pancakes to be top notch but that now exotic dish is strictly VERBOTEN by my doctor.
The Spam and Portuguese linguica omelette that I ordered instead was really good.
We all left the Tasty Crust smiling and sated.
Now it was on to the campus of the University of Hawai'i - Maui College for the huge, once a week Maui Swap Meet.
It was $1 to enter an area of the
campus filled with all sorts of vendors

When we left, Laurie had done her part in supporting the local economy once again.
After quick stops at Costco and Lowe's Hardware, we raced back to the condo.
We needed to get in some much
needed pool time, so we did
Refreshed, we now drove to the "Upcountry" Maui village of Kula for dinner with friends.

We invited Deb and Verne Merrill, on the left, to dine with us at our favorite restaurant on Maui.
The meal was AWESOME but the camaraderie was even better.
Verne had so many funny stories to share with us that had us all alternately in rapt attention and then side splitting laughter, great fun to be sure.
It gave me great pleasure to see these two youngsters, who I first met over 50 years ago via coaching Frosh baseball at Thousand Oaks High School, develop into such a loving, devoted couple and from all that I can tell great parents and grandparents.
It was so much fun reconnecting with them both these last two days.
While we were all enjoying a wondrous day in Maui, there were sports being played back in Camarillo.
The grandkids started their sports Saturday at Monte Vista Middle School with a CYBA post-season tournament game, Jacob's Bulls vs. the Warriors.

The Bulls won, 31-26, to move on to another playoff game on Tuesday night in this double elimination tournament.
The Warriors 2026 campaign is now over.
We move on to Camarillo H.S. where the Camarillo Cosmos track meet was already in progress.

Today she competed in the 100 Meters, Long Jump, High Jump and 4 x 100 Meters Relay.

Jacob normally competes in five events but his late arrival today due to the CYBA playoff game limited him to just these two today.
