The Start of the Transition to High School

Today's one and only major event was the first official transition move for Jacob from Las Colinas Middle School to . . . 

. . . to Adolfo Camarillo High School

At 6:30 p.m. I joined Jacob and his dad, Michael for Camarillo's Incoming Freshman Introductory Football Information Meeting.

Jacob was excited and anxious

to see what his Summer and Fall

would hold in store for him

The meeting was held in the

Camarillo H.S. Library

Camarillo's Head Varsity Football Coach, Nathan Anderson, took the assembled families through a thorough breakdown of everything that they needed to know to enroll and compete in the Scorpions 2026 Frosh football season.

At a time when most of the schools in our area have eliminated their Frosh football teams, Camarillo perseveres.

It was encouraging to hear that their are currently 55 incoming Freshmen who have signed up for the team.

As for the schedule, the Scorpions have patch worked together a solid nine game slate of games but we were warned that things could change and that the coaches are still trying to find a tenth game to fill in one of the two current byes.

All games played on Thursdays at 4:00 p.m.

August 20th at Santa Barbara

August 27th at Moorpark

September 3rd vs. Pacifica

September 10th vs. Ventura

September 17th at Rio Mesa

September 24th BYE

October 1st vs. Dos Pueblos

October 8th at Simi Valley

October 15th BYE

October 22nd at Pacifica

October 29th vs. Buena

Camarillo has a rich football tradition

Since fielding their first Varsity football team in 1957, the Scorpions have had 39 teams earn C.I.F. playoff spots.

During the past 68 seasons, Camarillo has won 16 league championships and three C.I.F.-Southern Section crowns (1984, 1996 and 2015).

Camarillo's 2015 squad was also the California State Runner-ups.

Hopefully this new Class of 2030 will add to the program's lore in the next four years.
