After a calm, relaxing Friday, we were back at it on a glorious Saturday, perfect for a youth track meet.
With Camarillo schools having been on their Spring Break this past week, today's meet was going to knock off a bit of rust to many of the Cosmos athletes.

First up was Jacob anchoring the

As I headed back to our seats during a break in the kids' action, I noted that the the fence on the curve of the track also served as the right field fence of Simi Valley's baseball field.
Wouldn't you know it, the Simi Valley H.S. Pioneers were hosting my alma mater, the St. Francis Golden Knights in a non-league game today.

The Golden Knights (10-7-1) whitewashed the Pioneers (10-9) this afternoon by a final tally of 3-0.

He held off this Running Rebel but still came in second yet again with a time of 2:24.44.

Mixed 4 x 400 Meters Relay
By mixed, I mean that their would be two girls and two boys racing the baton around the track today.
Jacob was running the starting leg followed by two legs run by Cosmos' girls and then a Camarillo boy running the anchor leg.

Jacob's team finished the long day in first place with a winning time of 4:14.00.
A good meal at the Simi Valley Cronies Sports Bar & Grill was called for at this point, so we answered that call before heading home to rest.

A good read set in Stockholm, Sweden
Our time living in Upplands Väsby, a suburb of Stockholm, made this book even more enjoyable as it took us back to so many great spots in the Swedish capital, one of the greatest cities that I have ever visited.
