The Long Drive Home From Las Vegas and the Start of the Camarillo Stingers Hell Week

Monday, July 18, 2022

It would be a long day that started early with the five+ hours drive home to Camarillo from Las Vegas.

Kevin and Jacob were not their
usual ball-of-fire selves at 6:15 a.m.

Our goal was to be out of Kevin's home in Las Vegas by 7:00 a.m. in order to be back in Camarillo for Jacob's rite of passage, the Camarillo Stingers first day of "HELL WEEK."

Just south of Baker, California
on Interstate 15

Maybe the best named road in all of the U.S.A.

Our only rest stop on the way home
was at the Barstow Station

The Barstow Station is the radio Mecca of the Mojave Desert.

We made it home in plenty of time for everyone to rest up before heading to Camarillo's Freedom Park and the high energy that is Hell Week at the Pop Warner level.

To review, this is Jacob's first season playing American football so this will be an entirely new level of soreness for him on Tuesday.

Warm-ups for the two hours
of fun ahead

The Stingers Circle included several
segments of Bear Crawling

Bear Crawls are every athletes favorite thing to do at the end of a two hour workout.

Actually, Jacob nearest the camera
may be developing a good Edge
Rushers stance doing Bear Crawls

After feeding him, Jacob fell asleep on our couch watching the replay of MLB's All-Star Game Home Run Derby in about two minutes.

Thus begins the start of Jacob's first Hell Week which brought back many great memories on many levels.
