The fourth day of Camarillo Stingers Hell Week loomed for our rookie American football player.
Jacob seemed none the worse for wear and, while still having a lot to learn, approached the night with a positive attitude.
His first time going through
a new drill was a tad rocky
But he endured.
Hops and a PUNISHING
hit on a blocking bag
Waiting in lines is a big and
probably necessary part of the
Stingers hour long Agility Circuit
Jacob needs to improve on his knee bending
and really shouldn't take it so easy on his
coach at the end of this drill
After practice, we drove across town to the Stingers storage facility to help the coaches in the first of two nights of properly fitting helmets for all of the players in their six team program.
We finished this evening's fittings at about 9:20 p.m.
Three clubs starting to assemble
for the helmet distribution
We started with the three youngest clubs that have players ranging from five to eleven years old.
We'll fit the older players on Friday night.
The tradeoff for volunteering to work these two nights was that Jacob received his helmet first.
I was more than OK with that exchange.
Starting to fit Jacob
Almost finished
Jacob looks ready to Rock and Roll
to me as padded practices
loom next week
Though I think that a haircut may be in order.
The old Camarillo Cougars re-branded themselves as the Stingers this season.
They flat out could not afford to buy everything in the new Blue and Silver Stingers colors this season, thus last year's Brown and Gold Cougars jerseys are still being used as practice jerseys this campaign.
Another half slate of ELF games this weekend . . .
The last two games on Sunday
have huge implications on
the eventual playoff picture
Hamburg Sea Devils (5-1) at Rhein Fire (4-2)
Tirol Raiders (4-2) at Vienna Vikings (6-0)
Our 5-1 Barcelona Dragons
travel to Istanbul on Saturday
to take on the 0-6 Rams
On July 2nd, in Barcelona, the Dragons prevailed over the Rams, 41-7 in their first of two meetings in 2022.
Thoughts from the net . . .
I am 100% guilty as
charged on this one
While I agree completely with
this at this point in my life
I just wish that I had fully realized it at a much younger age.
The weekend is now officially upon us.
