It was SCORCHING in Las Vegas but life simply had to go on!
Of course, we were not completely off our rockers as we opted to stay in air conditioned comfort as much as possible.
First stop was the Bass Pro Shop
I'm not big on the camping-hunting-fishing scene to which this chain of stores caters but I do like the manly sized clothing that they have to offer we full figured men.
Jacob just had to fire a weapon
It was a an electronic rifle that
just fired a beam of light at targets
In the evening, in 100+°F weather, the boys headed to the big deal of the day at Allegiant Stadium, Home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
An exhibition soccer game between
the English Premier League's Chelsea FC
and Mexico's Liga MX Club America
We wore blue to support Chelsea FC
Left to Right: Andrew, Micheal, George in the back row with Jacob and Kevin in the foreground
Our first view of the pitch
Our seats were in the far end zone, lowest level beneath the Al Davis Memorial, but unlit, torch.
Raider art in the hallways
Cool helmet tribute to all of the high
schools playing American football
in the state of Nevada
The Contreras boys surveying
the souvenirs on sale
The view from our seats
It's ALWAYS all about Al Davis
in the Home of the Raiders
A view of the famed Las Vegas Strip
from Allegiant Stadium
Everything that you would want
to know about the stadium
Jacob and Michael were ready!
LET THE GAME BEGIN!
Kevin and I were having fun
even though half of Chelsea's
starting players never saw the pitch
At the intermission it was
Chelsea 0 - Club America 0
Surprise!
There were two quick scores to start
the Second Half, both by Chelsea
After Chelsea took the usually commanding 1-0 lead, they tied the game back up when an errant Chelsea pass back to their own goalie dribbled into the net for a Club America goal.
Embarrassing.
Andrew and Kevin had
a bonding moment
"OLÉ, OLÉ, OLÉ, OLÉ . . ."
Chelsea was able to push across
another goal, their own this time,
to win the match 2-1
All in all, a good, clean time in Sin City.
