More From the Wonderful World of Camarillo Stingers Football

Wednesday, July 20, 2022

Another day revolving around Jacob and his first Pop Warner experiences sounded good to me.

Shopping at Dick's Sporting Goods
in Oxnard for a few needed items
on Jacob's wish list was a good
start to his day

Michael added the Camarillo Stingers
logo free hand to Jacob's new football

I think that he did
a pretty good job!

In the evening, it was time for Day 3 of the Stingers' Hell Week.

The usual end of the two hour
practice's Stinger Circle Run

Jacob was whizzing past us on the inside lane but, truth be told, I was tiring on Day 3.

Mike ran into his old friend
Bill Doswell

They went to elementary school, middle school and high school together. Bill's nephew is on one of the Stingers teams.

Good Times!

The Bataan Death March
recreated Stingers style

Jacob is not in this group right in front of us but he is definitely bear crawling somewhere else in the Stingers Circle to be sure.

For some reason he doesn't like bear crawling.

I simply can't understand why.

After practice, Laurie joined us for dinner at Cronies Sports Grill for a reason.

Our Facebook App likes to send us daily reminders of things that we have posted in the past on the same date. Today, Michael received the following reminder from Facebook.

Jacob's first trip to Cronies Sports Grill
on July 20, 2012

He was only four months old at the time.

Here he was tonight,
ten years to the day later

Out of nowhere, Jacob announced that he was going to order the meals for us.

He did a darn good job and devoured his burger, fries and a Mountain Dew in nothing flat.

Bear crawling will do that to you.

News from the net . . .

The name Jacob Contreras
did not make the cut

Why his name is not on this list is a mystery to all of us.
