Warm September Football Days

Tues. & Weds., Sept. 2-3, 2025

Besides another good al pastor Taco Tuesday experience at Ruby's Fresh Mexican Food & Tequila Bar and a fantastic chorizo breakfast burrito at the Estabalos Meat Market on Wednesday, these two days were all about reading and Pop Warner football practices.

While Tuesday's Defensive practice had its ups and downs, Wednesday's Offense workout was easily the Stingers' best practice of the season.

A big emphasis for the Wide Receiver corps on Wednesday was on Stalk Blocking, both how to perform it properly and how to defeat it.

One-on-Ones

Here, Jacob, with his back to us, is the WR with a DB opposite him. On the coach's command the DB tries to get past Jacob's Stalk Block to tackle the tall bag that the coach is holding.

Jacob did a much better job blocking
today than he did in the past weeks

Jacob did extremely well when it was his turn to be the DB as the moves he has honed playing DE against bigger OTs in pass rush situations helped him immensely.

See what I mean?

Jacob seen here playing CB
during the team's scrimmaging

He may be overcommitting a tad
to soon to this WR's outside release

Because of his success in the drill work, he got a lot of reps at WR tonight. On Defense he played his usual DE position, some DT and a lot of CB as well.

Versatility is a good thing.

Thoughts from the net . . .

A curious mind regarding
a healthy diet and . . .

. . . the pursuit of scientific research

These are two things that I wholeheartedly endorse!
