A Practice and a Game

Tues.-Wed., Sept. 23-24, 2025

Tuesday night's Camarillo Stingers practice was held under interesting skies.

Thunder storm in the offing?

Magic hour lighting . . .

. . . helped a bit by this light tower
at Camarillo's Mission Oaks Park

On Wednesday, we were back on the gridiron for another one of Jacob's Camarillo middle school flag football games.

Los Primeros School of Sciences
and Arts Panthers
Record Unknown

at

Las Colinas Middle School Mustangs
0 Wins - 1 Loss

The Mustangs were loose and
ready to play

Jacob giving Michael some last second
tips on proper Down Marker etiquette

Michael volunteered to be in charge on the Down Marker for all of the Mustangs' home games.

Mustangs' Captains Out

The Panthers' Captains looked MEAN!

Las Colinas kicking off to
start the fracas . . .

. . . led to this near collision

Panthers sweeping to their right

Topsy-turvy line play

Mustangs pressuring the Panthers' QB

A pass completion calling for
Defensive pursuit

Redirecting quickly . . .

. . . then out of nowhere,
she blindsided our DE!

Panthers' Trickeration!

Nice Mustangs' Punt Return

Nice looking lead blocker . . .

. . . who can also catch . . .

. . . and RUN!

Please protect that football!

Jacob with his first catch of the season

A long pass . . .

. . . that was complete to end the First Period

FIRST QUARTER
Los Primeros - 0
Las Colinas - 0

Back to pass rushing . . .

. . . and pursuing

Mustangs protecting their QB

Excellent catch!

This short pass . . .

. . . was caught by Jacob . . .

. . . who turned . . .

. . . and sprinted . . .

. . . to his second ever Las Colinas TD!

Tragically, the ensuing two-point
PAT pass fell incomplete

The Mustangs' suicide Kickoff team
is led by . . .

. . . this Sixth Grade ASSASSIN!

Fine low release . . .

. . . that found a Panther receiver open

Uh-oh . . .

. . . the Panthers were mounting
a serious drive!

Swivel hips are a . . .

. . . BIG plus in flag football!

FIRST QUARTER
Las Colinas - 6
Los Primeros - 0

Kickoff action . . .

. . . with the potential for
another blindside block

No, it definitely did not happen.

Mustangs' QB scramble

Jacob pass rushing

MAKE THAT PLAY, MUSTANG!

EFFORT!

Panthers' QB standing TALL in the pocket

BIG play for the Panthers . . .

. . . a TD saving flag pull at the one yard line

Panther TD

The Panther one-point PAT was successful

For clarification, the flag football rules employed in this Camarillo middle school league allows for PATs from the five yard line to be worth two points while successful tries from the three yard line earn a single point.

THIRD QUARTER
Los Primeros - 7
Las Colinas - 6

Two Mustangs' WR
working to get open

Pass Protection vs. a female DE
can be a bit harrowing at times . . .

. . . but not always

Jacob going . . .

. . . DEEP!

The ball went deeper.

Get there . . .

. . . and PULL THAT FLAG!

Jacob's third pass reception . . .

. . . of the game . . .

. . . was good for . . .

. . . another nice gain

Is that Panther throwing a vicious punch at Jacob?

Trucking on down the highway

Finally, after three seasons, Jacob got to
play the one position that he dreamed of,
CENTER!

Snap and go out for a pass

All offensive players are eligible to catch a pass without penalty.

Knife through and . . .

. . . PULL THAT FLAG!

Another good Las Colinas pass play

Keep going!

This could have been embarrassing

One last ditch effort would,
unfortunately, not be enough

The game was over

FINAL SCORE
Los Primeros (?-?) - 7
Las Colinas (0-2) - 6

A good effort by both clubs again today. Two close losses for the Mustangs was tough to take but the effort has been good in both skirmishes.
