Road Trip

Thursday, November 16, 2023

We made a decision a few days ago that, for many reasons, we needed to take a mind clearing road trip soon.

"Soon" quickly translated into "today."

We rented a car as our two veteran vehicles were deemed not ready to make any kind of a long journey at this stage of their careers.

At 9:00 a.m. we were off, but where to?

Well, something with a college
football flavor was an option

The #5 Washington Huskies (10-0)
are at the #12 Oregon State Beavers (8-2)
on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

A future Big-10 vs. PAC-2 game
was our choice

Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon . . .
HERE WE COME!

After about three hours of driving,
we got to this meat factory on
Interstate 5 in Coalinga, California

Completely forgetting about the
upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday . . .

. . . Harris Ranch is 100%
into Christmas!

My view will ravenously consuming
a delicious Tri-Tip sandwich

Laurie was getting all sorts
of ideas for decorating our
home upon our return

As I alluded, All Christmas,
All The Time at Harris Ranch

A huge Christmas tree decorated
in Huskies purple, an omen I think

I thought that Santa rode in a sled?

A great meal fueled us for another four hours of driving to our goal city today, beautiful Red Bluff, California.

On to Corvallis on Friday, about five hours away.

Thoughts from the internet . . .

The 0-4 Skorpions U18 team is
looking to upset the 4-0 Giaguari
club on Sunday

The "King"

When this University of Washington all-time great RB was picked in the first round of the 1952 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers, the ninth selection overall that year.

It was said at that time that Hugh, a future College and Pro Football Hall of Famer, took a pay cut when he left Washington for the NFL.

I wonder how much he would have made in today's college NIL climate?

100% true

GO HUSKIES!

Maybe an Oregon high school playoff game should be in order for Friday night, hmm . . .
