The past few days were devoted largely to the viewing of the four World Cup Quarterfinal games.
Largely but nor entirely . . .
On Sunday morning, we met
up with the La Quinta gang
to catch up
We met next to this building at the new Wagon Wheel district of beautiful Oxnard at the Honey Cup Coffeehouse & Patisserie.
The fellowship was good, but
the shared pastries were INSANE!
We were further excited to reunite in the evening with Michael, Vanessa, Jacob and Mary to hear all about their recent three week adventures in first Maui and then Civil War reenacting in Astoria, Oregon.
Sunday was an extremely good day for us.
Now as to those World Cup games . . .

A Colonial Wars rematch, Go Bleu!
But we did love our time in Marrakech last year.

I was definitely rooting for

Playing this Semifinal game on the French National Holiday that is Bastille Day may be a bad omen for Team Spain.
Wednesday, July 15th
Argentina (6-0) vs. England (5-0-1)
These four semifinal teams were the top four seeds coming into the World Cup.
This is the first time in World Cup history that the top four seeds a have all earned their way into the Final Four.
As for my ongoing 2026 World Cup scoring study, if a team scored just two goals in a game, their record would be 62-8-8, a whopping winning percentage of 79.4%!
On to news of American football . . .

While listed in the 700 win tier, our beloved Washington Huskies all-time record in our 109 seasons of intercollegiate football is but 687-446-32.
Top dog Michigan is also just short of the 1,000 victory plateau as listed, but they are close with a 136 season overall record of 995-354-35.
