Our Los Angeles Rams were back at it tonight with a still mathematical chance to secure the NFC West title and the NFC's #1 playoff seed if they could, first and foremost, win out!
A stand alone Monday Night Game
for all to revel in our Rams glory
Maybe this all-time Rams great and
Pro football Hall of Fame Center,
Linebacker and Kicker was
watching from on high
In 1952, the Rams traded 11 players in the form of six current Rams and five Draft picks to the Dallas Texans for Les Richter, a rookie from the University of California.
Richter was the overall #2 pick in the 1952 NFL Draft by the New York Yanks. The Yanks franchise folded two days later and Richter's draft rights were assigned to the brand new Dallas Texans franchise.
Richter would serve with the U.S. Army in Korea and thus would not be available to play pro football until 1954. Hence the trade to help the immediate needs of the Texans expansion franchise.
The Texans folded after one season and morphed into the Baltimore Colts.
The NFL was not always all mighty it would appear.

I picked up a couple of big pizzas
and a Caesar salad at Freda's
Mary in her new Mighty Ducks
hockey jersey
She joined Michael and Jacob at our home to watch the Rams curb stomp the lowly Falcons on our way to the NFC playoffs.
The Truth is stranger than Fiction
The Rams were down 21-0 at the Half and looked just as bad as the score indicated.
They played much better in the Second Half but it was a case of too little, too late.
The Rams will still be in the NFC playoffs as either the fifth or sixth seed depending on what happens next weekend, the last round of regular season games this season.
We are limping badly going into the playoffs to be sure.
The CFP Quarterfinal at the
Rose Bowl between Alabama (11-3) and
Indiana (13-0) may have weather issues
Not to mention the Rose Parade floats, bands, parade watchers and Rose Bowl attendees who may drown during Pasadena's New Year's Day festivities.
This cup is screaming at me DAILY!
España may be better than therapy sessions with St. Joanne of Northridge.
But, then again, I might be speaking heresy.
