A Wondrous Christmas Day

Thursday, December 25, 2025
The best day of every year, in my humble opinion, is Christmas, and today was that day.

YAHOO!

The day started with a bit of . . .

. . . Brian FitzGerald's AI Magic!

Leaving a sweet young thing in awe is good for my ego.

Or was it something I said?

We were fortunate that the predicted flood-like conditions for our town did not materialize today although we did get some scattered rainfall spread out thankfully throughout the day.

In the afternoon, Vanessa, Michael, Mary and Jacob came to our home for some food, gift exchanging and the viewing of not one but two Christmas classics.

The first film was the 1938 version of A Christmas Carol starring Reginald Owen as Ebenezer Scrooge. LOVED IT yet again.

Our second movie was the 2019 animated film Klaus which none of us had ever seen. It was a big hit with all of us, a new instant Christmas classic for our family to be sure.

Our reason for the season today

Let the gift giving begin!

"My Only Limitation Is My Imagination"

True Mary, 100% TRUE.

Laurie's knitting skills made
many a gift today

GO HUSKIES!

This book was a big hit with
our young Civil War scholar

The elder Civil War scholar in the room was excited about this tome as well.

We all first saw it at the Civil War museum in Charleston, South Carolina a few weeks ago.

Pink is her favorite color

Why are these two miscreants laughing?

We're laughing because of
this gift from Vanessa

This t-shirt and photo captured
the joy of the day perfectly

Another Brian FitzGerald AI effort
really captured our feelings today

After the kids went home, I opened up my computer to find yuletide greetings from all over the American football world and beyond.

Here are some examples . . .

The Spanish Football Federation

Spain in general

Our 2025 club, the Gijón Mariners, are
located in the Spanish province of Asturias

VIVA ESPAÑA!

Las Rozas Black Devils
Spain

Our beloved Varese Skorpions
Italy

Firenze Guelfi
Italy

Bergamo Lions

NFL Fan Group
Italy

Italian American Football Federation

Örebro Black Knights
Sweden

Fehérvár Enthroners
Hungary

Budapest Cowbells

Saint-Ouen-l'Aumone Cougars

Apparently, Santa took a break
in his whirlwind, round the world
sleigh ride somewhere in Ireland

Tercer Cuarto Football Group
Mexico

Of course he LOVES football!

Closer to home . . .

The Rams were . . .

. . . heavily into . . .

. . . the Christmas spirit today!

It was nice of Clemson to
remember our visit this season

Merry Christmas Huskies!

What you get for having that
one friend with WSU roots

Women's Football Alliance
USA

San Diego Rebellion
Women's National Football Conference
USA

Even the Riddell Company got into the spirit of the season with fun, new helmet designs . . .

Chinstrap in red too perhaps?

I like this one, quite Christmasy

Gift wrapped but ready to wear

Key thoughts during the holidays

Looks like an after dinner mint

The Dodgers got into the act

Greetings from the baseball grave?

The Seattle Pilots one and only season in the American League was 1969.

They moved to Milwaukee in 1970 and became the Brewers.

Has it really been FIFTEEN years
since that memorable 500 mile stroll
through the north of Spain?

Spain. I absolutely LOVE Spain!

While Barcelona is still my
overall favorite city, if we ever
moved to Spain, I believe that
Gijón would be our landing spot

Someone may need to hand
me a hammer, SOON!

Final thought for today . . .

Our resident Jewish expert,
Joanne Sabolić, confirmed this
well known talmudic historical fact

Laurie and I both hope that you enjoyed the . . .

Merriest Christmas Ever!
