After way too many weeks of football, Sunday was a good day to revisit the arts, not once but twice.
We started with a short drive over to Camarillo's Rancho Campana H.S. Performing Arts Center for Mary's Winter Dance Recital.
Mary was wonderful, she started
as the middle child in the back row
Her whole line would eventually rotate to the front about half way through the performance.

This dance program has been so positive for her and fun for us as well.
After Mary's recital, we headed up to Santa Barbara for more of the arts.

our second performance of the day
The Grace Fisher Foundation's
A Winter Music Showcase
Grace is the daughter of Bill and Debbie Fisher.
Bill was an excellent Free Safety/Wide Receiver for us at Westlake H.S. in the mid-1980s.
Grace was a typical teenager who loved the arts when, at the age of 17, she contracted a rare neurological disease, Acute Flaccid Myelitis.
The disease left her a quadriplegic.
A still highly motivated, disciplined, artistic and determined quadriplegic.
Grace has discovered mouth painting and has graduated from UCSB with a BA in music composition.
In the past decade, the Grace Fisher Foundation (GFF) has connected people living with disabilities to music, art and dance. In 2023, the GFF opened the Inclusive Arts Clubhouse as a place for people of all abilities to create, connect and find community support.
The Winter Music Showcase was

We enjoyed a great night of entertainment in support of a most worthy cause. Thanks for the invitation Bill and Debbie.
While we were in our artistic mode, there was still football being played somewhere.
The NFL game at SoFi Stadium
had . . .
. . . the desired result!
The Rams (11-3) outlasted the Detroit Lions (8-6) to retain the NFC's #1 playoff seed for another week.
Up next for Los Angeles' oldest franchise is a crucial NFC West showdown on Thursday night in Seattle against the Seahawks (11-3).
Good but maintaining that #1

The Villeurbanne Falcons improved
to 3-0 over the weekend
It was a tough and costly win for the team I coached during the 2012-13 season as their star running back broke his leg in the game.
I connected with the Falcons Offensive Coordinator, Julien Urgenti after the game trying to encourage him to adapt, overcome and keep the winning streak going.
I'm sure that he will.
