Both teams gave a good account of themselves today, a tough loss for sure but the effort was there.
The rest of Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday was spent doing but one thing, an inventory of the items that Agoura H.S. donated to the greater EuroBall cause last Friday.
My goal was to inspect all of the game jerseys and game pants that were now residing in our garage. I needed to organize them based on colors, makers and sizes.
As it turned out, we had received
175 game jerseys and a WHOPPING
411 game pants

MARINERS WIN, 20-20!
Our beloved Gijón Mariners (0-2-1), down 20-7 at the start of the Fourth Quarter, played amazing Defense down the stretch and put together two excellent drives to storm back to tie the game at 20-20. Unfortunately, the Osos Rivas (2-1-1) blocked the final PAT attempt of the game to keep the game without a winner.
This was the second straight year that the traditional Madrid powerhouse Osos drove home from Gijón without a win.
This was a BIG game for the Mariners
football family, their 100th in
Spain's Serie A, a.k.a., DI

The Sacramento State Hornets announced this weekend a big change in their athletic future, a jump from the FCS level Big Sky Conference up to the FBS level by joining the Mid-America Conference this coming Fall.
It would have been simpler to
join the newly revamped PAC-12
but I don't know all the ins and outs
In the MAC, the Hornets shortest road trip will be to Muncie, Indiana to play Ball State, a distance of 1,918 miles from Sacramento.
Sac State's longest trip for a game will be to Amherst, Massachusetts to compete with UMass, a mere 2,552 miles from California's capital city.
Travel costs are cheap nowadays, right?

The league's downfall has often been laid of the feet of one new owner in 1984 when he purchased the New Jerseys Generals. His antics, it was reported by many experts writing 40 years ago, sealed the doom of the circuit.
