Two Days Preparing for Our Football Road Trip

Mon. & Tues., Nov. 3 & 4, 2025
Most of these two days were spent preparing for our Football Boys' Trip to South Carolina this weekend.

Of course, I did spend some time on the net doing valuable research.

What does the word "Monday"
refer to exactly?

Michael and Jacob at last weekend's
Civil War Reenactment somewhere
in the remote area near Yucaipa

Did you know that the Dodgers
won the 2025 World Series?

On Tuesday, I was given the
opportunity to participate in this
Ventura County Star podcast

It lasted for 85 minutes and was great fun for me sharing the microphone with three great sports writers for the Star, Derry Eads, Joe Curley and Dominic Massimino.

We fully broke down last weekend's slate of high school games and then proceeded to analyze the fortunes for the 15 Ventura County area high schools that made it into the post-season.

At the end, we were asked to name the team that we each thought had the best chance to win a C.I.F.-Southern Section crown this year. My pick to win four more games was the Fillmore Flashes (9-1) in Division IX, but it won't be easy. A close second for me was the Agoura Chargers (8-2) in Division VI.

Thanks again fellows for inviting me to be part of the podcast!

Rams at 49ers next Sunday,
BIG GAME!

The first College Football Playoff
rankings came out on Tuesday night

The Washington Huskies checked in at #23.

So you're saying we've got a chance?

Only the Top 12 teams
make the CFP

There is a long way to go with most teams still having four regular season games plus a Conference Championship game to play.

As it stands at the moment, Texas and Oklahoma are the first two teams out of the playoff.

But, as I said, there is a lot of football to be played in the next month of the season.

How is the quest for a perfect season going in college football . . .

Five FCS Undefeated Teams
Harvard 7-0
Lehigh 9-0
Montana 9-0
North Dakota State 9-0
Tennessee Tech 9-0

Eight DIII Undefeated Teams

Johns-Hopkins 8-0
Bethel 8-0
Hardin-Simmons 8-0
Wartburg 9-0

Christopher Newport 8-0

Four FBS Undefeated Teams
BYU 8-0
Indiana 9-0
Ohio State 8-0
Texas A&M 8-0

Eight DII Undefeated Teams
Albany State (GA) 8-0
Augustana (SD) 9-0
Central Washington 8-0
Ferris State 8-0
Findlay 8-0
Harding 9-0
Kutztown 9-0
West Florida 9-0

Washington Huskies (6-2, 3-2 BIG-10)
at
Wisconsin Badgers (2-6, 0-5 BIG-10)

A MUST win for the Dawgs. We wanted to go to this game but the plane schedule logistics were too daunting.

Instead we'll see the  . . .

Florida State Seminoles (4-4, 1-4 ACC)
at

Clemson Tigers (3-5, 2-4 ACC)

While neither team is living up to their traditional levels of excellence this season. It should be a competitive game between two evenly matched clubs.

Thanks for the tips Dabo

Florida State is being tight lipped about what they need to do to win.

Score one more point than Clemson?

Already thinking about this game
in Dublin next August

Westside H.S. Rams (6-4)

We'll see the Rams play their South Carolina AAAA Opening Round State playoff game at home on Friday night against the high scoring but defensively porous Pickens H.S. Blue Flame (3-7).

San Diego Rebellion
Women's Football this coming Spring

The Los Angeles Legends franchise of this league is based in Gardena, CA.

I can see one of their games in our future schedule of adventures.

The Federación Española
de Fútbol Americano has a new logo

I like it.

That's the Spanish Federation of American Football for all of you non-Spanish speakers.

The logo started me thinking about our season in the Province of Asturias with the Gijón Mariners in Northern Spain last Winter.

The Cross of Asturias

Every single EuroBall coaching experience over the last 17 years in France, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland have been amazing and sources of great memories.

Still, our time in Gijón has left me the most contented of all.

It's a combination of the language, culture, cuisine and our family heritage in the region.

I truly miss the idyllic life in Gijón.

As for our blog, due to prior commitments, it will be dark over the next few days, I'll start posting again on Monday.

Time to get a life.
