Thanksgiving Day this year would be a little different as we would share the day at the home of the FitzGerald family.
The basics would still be there,
friendship, football and LOTS of
fabulous food
Thank You for inviting us!
Yes, we are blessed and still we
often forget this simple fact
Our annual Turkey Day routine had always been to meet at my Mother's home for the traditional meal with my sisters, sons and their families.
Our Mom's illness and eventual passing two years ago has changed all of that. With Andrew and his family staying in Las Vegas, Michael and his loved ones were celebrating at Vanessa's parents today, we planned on a quiet day at home.
We also planned to have Michael's family over for their second Thanksgiving Day supper of the week at our home on Friday.
Our plans changed when our longtime family friends, Brian and Koreen FitzGerald, heard of our Thursday plans and instantly proffered us an invitation to their family's feast.
We had a rollicking time
with about 20 members of
the FitzGerald Family Tree
We really enjoyed ourselves and must thank all of the FitzGerald Clan for opening their arms to us today and making us feel welcome.
Many of these rules were
applicable today
Did I mention the food today? OH MY GOD!
Five hours of grazing through chips, dips, wine, turkey with all the trimmings and desserts, so many incredible desserts!
Of course, the internet was full of Happy Thanksgiving Day greetings . . .
From old #99
Go Huskies!
Rams House!
Even the World Series Champions
got into the act
All in all, it was a great day that we thoroughly enjoyed thanks to Koreen and Brian's kind generosity.
I am thankful for this as well
Now we look forward to our Friday version of Thanksgiving Day, another highly enjoyable one consisting of more family, football and food.
Extremely thankful that
life is still SO GOOD!
