Millennium III

The Third and Final Book in
"The Millennium Trilogy"

Stieg Larsson's final book was another GREAT 746 page read. If you have not read any of his Trilogy books, do so but remember that they must be read in order.

The first two books were outstanding in their own right but both finished with just a hint of unfinished business that would lead to the subsequet stories.

" . . . Hornets' Nest" closed all the possible loopholes and made the series complete for me.

It is common knowledge that Larsson was about 200+ pages into a new book at the time of his untimely death at the age of 50 due to a heart attack in 2004. There are tremendous legal battles going on in the Swedish courts over this unfinished, unpublished manuscript and the issue of its ownership. The battle pits Larsson's family against his long term partner Eva Gabrielsson. We'll have to wait and see on this one.

His original plan was to make this a ten book series. How many interesting ideas were in his head to keep this series going for seven more books?

The crazy thing in his bizaar life story is that all three wildly successful Millennium books were published after his death.

I've read that he was a two pack a day smoker most of his life.

I wonder if Sweden has a Surgeon General?
