Today would be a day of tremendous family and . . .
. . . Tierra Linda Elementary School
Hawk Pride!
band of merrymakers
Families gathered at Tierra Linda's
Quad at 8:30 a.m.
The podium was set
We were all there to see our children's and/
or grandchildren's Promotion Ceremony
These youngsters were finishing their elementary school days as Fifth Graders about to head off to their next educational challenges in middle school for the next three years.
The agenda was well organized
and would finish in just 45 minutes!
We noted that Mary, in her role as the Tierra Linda Community Council's Sergeant-at-Arms, would lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
She was also part of the school's Ukelele Band that would perform the song "Best Day of My Life."
Good times, INDEED!
A total of 76 Hawks would
be moving on to middle school
Tierra Linda Principal
Fayanne Bakoo about to start
the fun proceedings
Sergeant-at-Arms Mary did a
perfect job leading us in the
Pledge of Alligiance
Soon thereafter, Mary was called
back up to the podium to receive
a Special Award
She was extremely excited to
be awarded this certificate
Truth be told, so were we!
Here comes the Ukelele Band
Mary strumming and singing
at the same time
I was impressed again by Mary's talents.
Promotion Time
It's OFFICIAL!
Mary was happy . . .
. . . Laurie and I were happy . . .
. . . and Michael and Vanessa were too!
Jacob was with us to watch Mary get her Certificate of Promotion and then was off to his middle school just down the street to board a bus for his Eighth Grade Graduation Party at Magic Mountain.
The Fifth Graders each had a
cupcake waiting for them
Mary was good with that!
Back home ready to
celebrate some more
Yes,
YOU DID IT!
CONGRATULATIONS!
We all had such a good time celebrating Mary's accomplishment that we completely forgot that today was also . . .
. . . National Donut Day
I'm going to have to make up for this complete disrespect to the Rolling Pin Donuts empire.
Will the Sabolićs forgive us this dietary transgression?
