We gathered once again as a family to celebrate the academic achievements of one of our grandchildren.
We met up at Jacob's scholastic
home for the past three school years
This awards ceremony was held in
Las Colinas' packed gymnasium
Jacob was excited to be with us
but we were not exactly sure which
award(s) he would be receiving
The night's agenda was both
simple and straight forward, it was a
night to celebrate academic excellence
Jacob's name was called as a
GPA Medal Recipient
His medal for achieving a 3.95 GPA
He was next called up as a recipient of the
President's Award for Academic Excellence
His certificate was signed by the
45th/47th President of the United States
He also received this well
written, cogent letter again signed
by "The Leader of the Free World"
For once he stayed on topic, not one mention of Barak Obama, rigged elections, or his own academic genius.
I wonder if the President used an autopen to sign these fantastic documents?
This pin was also part of the
President's Award for Academic Excellence
Was Jacob done for the night?
Not a chance, his name was
called a third time
California Junior Scholarship Federation
for his three years of academic excellence
combined with community service work
This certificate also came with
a fine pin
Las Colinas Middle School Principal Kelly Pomerantz asked the students to wear their new found medals and pins at next Thursday's Graduation Ceremony.
As we left the gymnasium, I had to take one more photo of the banner commemorating the Mustangs 2023 undefeated Flag Football team.
Jacob wore #5 on his jersey

On a side note, Mary got her braces taken off today.

What an inspiring evening
On top of everything else that he has accomplished this year, it looks like he may surpass me in heighth by the time he starts his next round of educational challenges at Adolfo Camarillo High School in August.
