This was supposed to be a casual day of rest but still . . .
. . . I was productive in an
offbeat sort of way
Our first event was Jacob's second and final CYBA scrimmage at the dark, poorly lit Monte Vista Middle School Gym for his Bulls' team.
The CYBA season kicks of in earnest next Saturady.
Mary was fully supporting her brother
The opening tip went to
the red clad Bulls
The Bulls got off to a fast start
today against the Hornets
Jacob with the white head band
using his height advantage to the max
Hornet REJECTED!
Jacob's layup . . .
. . . went in and created one
happy faced Bull
Hornet three-pointer with OOMPH!
Battle under the boards
Having our Point Guard at the game
today made a huge difference
We looked much improved this week over our lackluster performance in our first scrimmage, definitely a work in progress kind os season.
Jacob and his #1 Fan
Meanwhile, back in the real world
While we were at the Bulls scrimmage, the Spanish DI American football season got started.
Four games this Saturday
The DI results from the Eastern Conference . . .
Valencia Firebats (1-0) - 12
L'Hospitalet Pioners (0-1) - 0
Badalona Dracs (1-0) - 42
Mallorca Voltors (0-1) - 7
The Eastern Conference bye this week went to the Terrassa Reds (0-0).
As for the Western Conference results . . .
Las Rozas Black Demons (1-0) - 48
Gijón Mariners (0-1) - 6
NUTS, our Mariners lost.
Osos Rivas (1-0) - 14
Zaragoza Hurricanes (0-1) - 7
On the other hand, our even older club won!
In the Western Conference, the Coslada Camioneros (0-0) had the bye in Week One.
Nice Spanish DII poster with . . .
. . . with the Penguins (1-0) taking the
measure of the Mercenaries (1-1), 13-0
The Sueca Ricers (0-0-1) and Valencia Giants (1-0-1) played to a 14-14 tie.
Saturday's two NFL Divisional games were next on the afternoon schedule.
The AFC game was a scintillating
Overtime affair
After the game, the announcement that Broncos QB Bo Nix broke a bone in his ankle that required season ending surgery pit a damper on things.
The Broncos back up QB, Jarrett Stidham, has not thrown a pass in an NFL game since the 2023 season. Bummer.
Bet on whoever the Broncos play in next week's AFC Championship game.
The NFC game was definitelt
NOT scintillating
The Seahawks looked just as dominant as the score indicated.
The winner of Sunday's Rams-Bears
game will play the Seahawks in Seattle
for the NFC title and a spot in
Super Bowl LX
Go Rams GO!
Finally . . .
Words to live by
