Easter Weekend in Camarillo

Sat. & Sun., April 19 & 20, 2025

Happy Easter everyone!

We enjoyed two good days with the California half of the family.

Saturday's Easter Egg Hunt
at Casa Contreras

These two are competitive at just
about everything including egg hunting

We all were happy to be together
sharing another of Laurie's
delicious holiday meals

Amid the fun, Laurie and I were both missing our son Andrew and grandson Kevin's new family in Las Vegas. We are planning on a visit out to Nevada in the next few weeks, it is time to catch up for sure.

While we were pleased to be together in Camarillo, our American football brothers in Italy had two games today featuring the Italian National U19 and Senior teams.

The U19 team was playing in
Germany against the usually tough
German National U19 squad

OUCH!

Definitely a blow to the Italian psyche but there was one more game today to regain national pride.

On the gorgeous Italian island of
Sardinia, the Italian Senior team was
 playing their Canadian counterparts

DOUBLE OUCH!!

No two ways about it, this was a dark day in the history of American football in Italy.

Back to work Team Italy!

This original Los Angeles Rams
horned helmet photo from 1946 is
a nice lead in to . . .

. . . our Rams Easter Sunday greetings

We accepted Vanessa's invitation
to join them at the 9:00 a.m. Mass
at Padre Serra Parish

Quite the church. It was packed and offered a nice celebration on Resurrection Sunday.

I loved this note in the church bulletin
today, so needed in these divisive times

I was feeling good about the
inclusivity at the service today

I am told that they even let a 1% Sephardic Jew in the church today.

One must remember every Holy Week, it wasn't the Jews, it was the Italians!

Just saying . . .
