Another Quiet Day at La Hacienda

Friday, 17, April, 2015:

We spent another quiet day indoors today just relaxing, reading and studying more videos.

You may ask why we are not out galavanting as much as usual this week and the answer is twofold.

First, I am worried about our team's mind set going into Sunday's game in Barcelona against the 2-5 Búfals.

We only beat them 20-13 the first time that we played, largely due to a blocked punt that we returned for a TD.

This game has no bearing on our playoff status as we are the Par Conference's #2 team win or lose.

And that is exactly why I have been obsessing more than usual this week watching video. I do not want to enter the playoffs in two weeks riding a two game losing streak.

I must say that our practices this week have been good and I think that the Cobras, to a man, understand how dangerous the nothing-to-lose, might-as-well-give-it-all-we've-got Búfals are going to be.

We will depart Murcia by recliner bus at midnight Saturday night in order to arrive in Barcelona in plenty of time for the scheduled 11:00 a.m. kickoff. We will have 24 Cobras aboard ready to battle the Búfals.

The second reason that we have been relatively sedate the past few days is that after the game on Sunday we are not going to return on the team bus and will be staying in Barcelona for a few days to do some serious galavanting!

 BIG Track Meet on Saturday

This banner greeted us at Estadio Monte Romero's Campo de los Sueños advertising a 50+ team mega track meet scheduled for Saturday and Sunday in the venerable estadio.

I asked Laurie if she wanted to go in order to recapture all of those fun filled all-day Saturday track meets that was such a big part of our Spring coaching days at Rio Mesa H.S.

She respectfully declined for the both of us.

Reading Is FUNdamental

A gripping page turner, I highly recommend it to you!
