Mon.-Thur., February 26-29, 2024
Just another sports week in peaceful Camarillo with some really good news on the Las Vegas sports front as well . . .
Grandson Kevin representing his
Las Vegas team in an Orange County
tournament last Summer
We received word on Monday night from his proud parents that Kevin, a 6th grader, had tried out for the Boys 6th-7th-8th Grade Soccer Team at his middle school.
He was still on the roster after the first round of cuts, no small feat in a mega-sized middle school comprised of a whopping 1,700 students.
We are optimistic that he'll make it through the final rounds of roster trimming while facing the long odds vs. the older, more mature 7th and 8th graders.
Go Kevin, GO!
Yes indeed, we had another great

FINAL SCORE
#3 Orange (6-3) - 38
#6 Bruins (2-7) - 30
It was a solid win for the Orange who never trailed at any point during the game.
Up next for the Orange is a Saturday afternoon game against the winner of last night's Trojans (5-3, #2 seed) vs. Boilermakers (2-6, #7 seed) game that was played after the Orange's win.

A South American Men's Tournament
In November, clubs from four nations will meet in Mendoza, Argentina for what should be an interesting set of games.
The four teams that are invited to play are:
Paraguay's Black Dragons
Argentina's Sudaca
Costa Rica's Sharks
Chile's Chiguayante Nativos
Mendoza, Argentina is located on the eastern slopes of the Andes mountain range about a six hour drive east of Chile's capital city of Santiago.
