Youth Basketball Is Always Interesting

Tues.-Weds., February 6-7, 2024

As the rain storms continued to batter all of Ventura County, there was only one thing to do . . .

. . . find a warm, cozy and most of all dry
gymnasium to watch a basketball game

Not just any game mind you. It was Tuesday's season ending Camarillo Middle School Derby. The Las Colinas Mustangs at the Monte Vista Toros for the Bragging Rights of an entire city!

Although Jacob is not on the Las Colinas basketball squad, he still wanted to support his school mates.

The Monte Vista gym was PACKED!

It is not a big gym but the standing room only crowd made it an electric atmosphere from start to exciting finish.

Both teams had good athletes with solid athletic skills, especially when it came to passing the ball and defending.

Shooting hoops was another matter all together for much of the game.

Monte Vista led for most of
the first three quarters

The Fourth Quarter though belonged to the Mustangs.

The Final Score was Las Colinas 39 - Monte Vista 26.

It was a good way to spend a rainy afternoon for sure.

Wednesday night was again a
"Shelter from the Storm" kind of night

Thus, I attended Jacob's CYBA Boys 6th Grade Orange team basketball practice.

Jacob worked on his free throw shooting to start off the night.

Interesting jump shot form

His shooting is getting better and his defense continues to be strong.

Overall, I thought that Jacob had his best practice of the season on Wednesday night.

On to football . . .

The 16 Spanish Serie B teams
standings in their three conferences

My two favorite teams, the Guadalajara Stings in Grupo Centro and the Murcia Cobras in Grupo Este, are both 1-1 this campaign.

After a Bye weekend for all of
Serie A, Spain's top circuit is back
in full swing on Super Bowl Weekend

WOW!

The Varese Skorpions are being touted as one of Italy's three best teams going into the 2024 season.

They, along with the Milano Rhinos and Lazio Marines, are rated above Italy's traditional DI powerhouse programs, the Parma Panthers and Firenze Guelfi.

Enzo Petrillo, Giorgio Nardi and Head Coach Nick Holt continue to build a monster of a team year after year.

Maybe they could help
the Los Angeles Rams in 2024

Now for the really good stuff . . .

No argument here except for
the grammar part

That was Tuesday's lunch at Ruby's
Mexican Restaurant yet again

Following my dreams, INDEED!

I have Jury Duty next week,
I may have to try this

Stay dry my SoCal friends.
