It was Game Day, NFL PLAYOFFS GAME DAY for our . . .
. . . Los Angeles Rams
But first we need to comment on a passing.
It was announced that longtime
Los Angeles Dodgers icon
Tommy Lasorda passed away
The photo above is from a book I own on Cuban baseball that our daughter-in-law Vanessa got Tommy to autograph at Dodger Stadium a few years ago.
Other than possibly Vin Scully, no one meant more to our Dodgers and their legions of fans.
If all of us had the passion and enthusiasm in our lives that Tommy had for his Dodgers, what a wonderful world it would be.
My morning featured a long phone conversation with fellow Husky reprobate Paul Sabolic. As usual, we came up with the perfect plan to solve most of the northern hemisphere's economic, medical and political problems.
Unfortunately, we are still stumped on how to get high school football going again in California.
I like it!
This was reality though
We got a surprising phone call from our son Michael.
Mike has become an avid bicyclist
He called to inform us that while riding his bike on Thursday he had been knocked to the ground by a hit-and-run motorist.
Fortunately he said that he only had minor cuts and bruises but this whole episode is not what a parent wants to hear.
What the . . .
Mike decided to shave off his dense beard but opted to play around with it a bit before reclaiming complete clean shaven status.
He called today to tell us he rode another 20 miles today on his bike so he must be ok.
Or a tad crazy . . .
What strange times we live in these days
WOW!!!
This result shocked me!
Beating the now 12-5 Seahawks in Seattle was no small task.
Depending on the outcome of Sunday's games, the Rams (11-6) will travel next weekend to play either the #1 seeded Green Bay Packers (13-3) or the #2 seeded New Orleans Saints (12-4).
An amazing day on many levels.
