Uppsala 86ers U15 Scrimmage

Sunday, 19 June, 2016:

Our time with the Wäsby Warriors is quickly coming to an end.

Today our U15 team hosted their last scrimmage of the Spring before starting their two month Summer break.

The Uppsala 86es
were our opponents

86ers HC Jonas Sedin with
Warriors HC Thomas Andersson
before the game

Jonas and Thomas go way back having played together for the Arlanda Jets back in the day.

Thomas was the fullback and Jonas was the halfback on those teams.

 Captains Out

Only 17 suited out today

The end of school this past week meant that many of our players were missing due to the start of family vacations. Thus many Warriors were either playing out of position and/or a lot more than normal.

The 86es I'm sure were facing similar problems as they only had 19 players at their disposal today.

Calle Boman loose in the secondary

 DEFENSE

Lots of BIG plays out of this group today with several QB sacks and tackles for loss. Three Goal Line Stands by our defense was the difference in the game.

It was 14-9 at the half in favor of the Warriors.

 Half Time Stretch

More Defense

The final score saw the Warriors winning 20-9.

It was a great way to end the Spring off-season program on a high note.

 1-2-3 WARIORS!!!

Jonas Boman, Bengt Granlund and
that other guy

Jonas is Thomas' #1 assistant coach and the father of Calle, our best Running Back.

Bengt is in charge of our off-season conditioning program, does a great job video taping our games and helps give extra attention as needed to our rookie players that are still unsure of themselves. His son Joel is our Free Safety.

Nobody is completely sure what that other guy does with the Warriors.

The next two days will see me helping with Summer camps for the U11 and U13 teams from the Arlanda Jets, the Sollentuna Stars and the Wäsby Warriors from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in exotic Märsta, the home of the Jets.

Monday night we will have a 90 minute U15 practice starting at 6:30 p.m. and on Tuesday night we will have a large Fika Party for all of the U11, U13 and U15 players and parents from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

At that point, my commitment with the Warriors ends and on Wednesday I'll be flying to Barcelona, España for eight days of rest and relaxation.

I'm looking forward to it all.
