The tedium of our self-imposed lockdown continues as the number of Covid-19 cases in America continue to grow unabated.

OK, time to see what few things caught my eye since our last post.

On Sunday, we attended a
Karen Pecht mini-concert
Karen was a highly respected English teacher at Rio Mesa High School who has become quite the troubadour since retiring from the field of education.
We have attended many of her concerts at local bistros over the last few years, something that we can not do during the pandemic.
Her solution to our musical needs was brilliant!
She and her husband Tom live on their family ranch that was built in 1905. They offered to hold a small concert on their ranch grounds under old pepper trees that provided wondrous shade during our hot Summer.
Only seven couples were in attendance.
Coronavirus rules were observed!
When we arrived, seven of these of these socially distanced yellow circles were chalked on the ground.
Only two people per circle, SVP! If you were inside your circle, you could take your face mask off. If you opt to leave the circle, PUT THAT MASK BACK ON!
Since at least one member of each circle was a former teacher, we all followed the rules to the letter.
As always, Karen sang to her usual high standards and for a couple of hours we all got out of our houses and into a safe, fun environment.

During the week, Laurie and I decided to try making a breakfast recipe from our latest ITALY magazine using leftover pasta.
It sounded simple enough
and was touted as a recipe
from Naples
It's hard to beat anything food related from Naples as we found out last Summer.
We had the leftover pasta
from the previous night
Then we added . . .
. . . high quality ingredients
Our breakfast table was set
It was good for a first attempt
We will need to try it again to get the proportions a bit more to our individual tastes.
Still, cooking with Laurie was fun in and of itself.

Actually, you can drop off
your mail-in ballots at polling
stations as well as designated
spots in most cities
You do not have to use the USPS to send it, you only need them to send you your ballot to begin the process.
On Saturday, Laurie and I drove down to San Marino for my Mother Chuny's 96th Birthday celebration.

Because of the Coronavirus fear, Chuny's birthday party was quite small this year.

I think that she enjoyed her day despite the intense heat.
