A date that will live in GLORY in Los Angeles Rams' history!
The Cleveland/Los Angeles/St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams (12-5) gave a dismal, season ending, and I use the term loosely, effort last week against the San Francisco 49ers.
I thus had my doubts about tonight's NFC Wild Card Playoff game against a good Chicago/St. Louis/Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals (11-6) team.
What an EFFORT by the Rams
on this first ever Monday night
playoff game!
A heavy reliance on the Running Game, excellent QB play by Matthew Stafford and a suffocating Defense made for a game completely dominated by the Rams.
Now it's on to Tampa Bay
for the Divisional Round
of the NFC Playoffs
Awaiting the now 13-5 Rams next Sunday is Tom Brady and his Super Bowl LV defending champion Buccaneers (14-4).
The two teams met back in a Week #3 contest on September 26th in Los Angeles. Long ago on that day, the Rams prevailed 34-24.
It is hard to beat a Tom Brady led team twice in one season but it does happen.
The Rams will have to play at an even better level than last night's performance to advance to the NFC Championship Game, I believe.
Still, all Rams fans should revel in the big win over the Cardinals for a few another day before thinking about the Buccaneers game.
