Another First Day of School and Rapid Expansion in the Asian Football Alliance

Tues.-Weds., August 18-19, 2026

Wednesday was the First Day of School for two more of our youngsters.

Mary was off to her first day

as a Middle School Sixth Grader

Mary's Dad, Michael, was off

to the first day of his 16th year

teaching at Newbury Park H.S.

Now all of our family in both California and Nevada are back at it in proper learning environments.

On Tuesday night, our B-E Book Club

met to discuss our Book 0f the Month

Ours was a tough read for all of us but with some still beautifully written scenes. We all enjoyed a lively 90 minutes dissecting this tome and enjoying each other's fellowship.

Expanding your horizons to literature that you would not normally read, like Ours, is a good reason to be in a book club. 

Meanwhile, there was rapid expansion in the faux/AI generated Asian Football Association as two more clubs were added overnight.

The Vietnam Vipers

Vibrant colors and great helmets ruled the creation of this squad.

The Mongolian Warlords

Muted colors but their alternate helmet caught my eye.

With these two additions, the AI generated Asian Football Association is now up to eight teams:

All of these clubs come from the combined efforts of AI, the Facebook site Uniform Sports Talk and their artist, Ron DellaDonna.

All with WAY too much time on their hands.

on November 8th, in Brussels

As if Ron DellaDonna didn't have enough on his plate, he found time to add a Game of Thrones Division to the USFL.

DISCLAIMER: I have never watched a single episode of Game of Thrones. I've heard it is an interesting show.

So much for the creative side of things, now we are looking forward with great anticipation to Jacob's first high school football game of the season on Thursday, a Frosh game with the Camarillo Scorpions at the Santa Barbara Dons at 4:00 p.m.
