Implementing Plan B and a Pass Under Pressure Only Scrimmage Thursday

Thursday, March 24, 2022

After the carnage of Wednesday's practice, the coaching staff came to the conclusion that the team needed a physical break.

The combination of two years of no American football and high intensity workouts as naturally competitive players were trying to earn a spot on the final National Team roster for the Summer 2023 World Games in Germany needed to be addressed.

Thursday's practice plan
looked good but . . .

The morning practice was canceled in lieu of a day at the local . . .

. . . Municipal Pool

It proved to be a good alternative both physically and mentally for our players.

After our 90 minute swim party, we loaded up the team bus for the ride over to the party/reception center that has been serving us our team lunches and dinners.

It was a chance for a few more photo ops.

With our QB Coach Ester Alencar

Truly an amazing young woman.

With OT Dhiego Taylor

They say that if you make a wish while touching his beard, the dream will come true.

I had to try.

It did.

Dhiego and I were joined by
OG Durval Queiroz

Durval spent the last three seasons on the Miami Dolphins practice squad as part of NFL's international outreach program.

I felt like a size Medium.

The pool at our dining spot

Lining up for the buffet

In the afternoon, we upgraded our original helmets only practice to one including shoulder pads.

The Team Bus made it up the hill
successfully one more time

Sometimes players need to tape
up their shoes to hit the field

As always, it was a
BEAUTIFUL
day for American football!

See what I mean?

An Install Period

Another all Passing Game Scrimmage
trying to keep the hitting down a tad

A good job adjusting to a Rub
or Pick Route depending if you
are on Offense or Defense

A GOOD pass rush is always good
in this style of competition

The grass seems to be
growing back in nicely

After allowing too many Big Plays in Wednesday mornings scrimmage and with our Defensive Pride hurt, we played a suffocating brand of American football this afternoon.

The evening video review meetings with the players were watched much more enthusiastically.

I felt that I needed to resume eating with the team the rest of the week for bonding purposes instead of more Three Amigos Adventures. I think that it was a good move.

Thursday turned out to be another really good day which has been amazingly positive for my attitude.

I'm having a GREAT time!
