EuroBall Weekend Update

 In my haste to talk about young Jacob's birthday in my last post, I forgot to mention what happened to our two most recent teams in EuroBall action.

In Spain, all of Serie A had

the weekend off including our

Mallorca Voltors

The Voltors (1-4) will make their next stand against the high flying Barberá Rookies (4-0) next Sunday somewhere in the greater Barcelona megalopolis.

The Rookies are all alone in first place in Serie A's Eastern Conference.

Italy's DII played two games

in their second scheduled week

Actually, their were three games originally scheduled for the 12 team, three league, Italian DII clubs.

Our beloved Varese Skorpions (1-0) had to postpone their home game against the Legnano Frogs (0-1) due to too many positive COVID-19 tests among the Skorpion team members. The game has been rescheduled to next Saturday.

We'll see . . .

A key game in Girone B

Bergamo Lions 21 - Verona Redskins 7

Again, Girone is Italian for League.

Girone B is where the Skorpions reside this campaign.

First game of the season in Girone A

Ferrara Aquile 6 - Torino Giaguari 21

The Giaguari made it to the DII Championship game last season.

As we enter the third week of the DII season, two Girone A teams have yet to play, the Reggio-Emilia Hogs and the Torino Reapers. They will both finally get their first chances to compete this coming weekend.
