Tues.-Thurs., February 8-10, 2022
Before getting into our latest escape to the 50th state, here is some news from the net . . .
Aaron Rodgers was named the
2021 NFL Most Valuable Player
This is the fourth time that this Green Bay Packers QB has won this award. He previously was given this prestigious award in 2011, 2014 and 2020.
Still, this somewhat controversial athlete and future first ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer took the time once to take the podium wearing a sweatshirt from Junior College days in Chico, California.
This one was for you Paul Sabolic.
ABSOLUTLY!
Forget this, men will
NEVER understand women
Cooper Kupp's is an
AMAZING story!
Is this true?
If it is, our Rams may be in trouble Sunday.
On Tuesday, Mary resumed her architectural studies at our home.
She started out with
low rise constructions
Sh was quite happy with
her latest creation
She finished with this
majestic skyscraper
Mary, what the heck are
you doing?
As it turns out, Wednesday was the 100th day of the school year and Mary's teacher asked the kids to show up dressed as their future 100 year old self.
Any excuse to dress up is Mary's mantra.
How did Great-Grandma Mary
do in your opinion?
On Wednesday, we were off to Maui for a week thanks to our son Michael driving us to the Los Angeles International Airport at 5:00 a.m.
We were excited to be experiencing yet another Adventure in Paradise, this time with our son Andrew, wife Jenn and grandson Kevin.
Jenn's parents Joe and Susan would also be with us for what should be a fun week.
Once in our rented condo in Kihei, we unloaded our two carry-on bags (we tend to travel LIGHT) and hit the beach!
The walk to the beach only took about five minutes.
The S.S. Minnow?
Apparently, during a storm early last December, this boat washed ashore.
The abandoned shipwreck is still there but I'm not sure what happened to the crew and passengers.
One of Maui's GLORIOUS beaches

A sleek craft just made
for a physical fitness outing
Just not mine, thank you.
In the evening, we were joined by Mark and Susie Johnson for dinner. It was their last night on Maui before flying home to Seattle on Thursday.
We drove up-country to . . .
. . . one of our favorite dining
spots on the island
Luciano's Seafood Pasta
If I'm ever told that I only get one more meal before I die, this would be it.
We had an all-around good dining experience with good friends at this somewhat hidden but excellent restaurant.
WONDERFUL!
Thursday morning started off
with me doing a Zoom American
football coaching clinic
I was asked to answer a series of eight questions that Serbian Association of American Football coaches had prepared for me.
We had a good session with about 15 Serbian coaches in attendance. They must have liked it as they asked me to answer another series of questions again for them not week.
When our on hour clinic was finished, I still had enough time to finish breaking down some Mallorca Voltors practice video before hitting the surf.
The Voltors have looked much better in practice the last two weeks, I hope that it translates onto the game field.
After a rocky start, the Voltors (0-2)
need to right the ship against
the L'Hospitalet Pioners (1-2)
This weekend's Spanish
Serie A schedule
After an American football morning,
the beach looked GREAT!
Textures . . .
An ancient lava flow once reached
the Pacific Ocean next to our beach

Later in the day we hit this
Kihei gelateria
Kevin and his medium scoop of
birthday cake gelato

dined on gelato
And a view on the walk back to
the condo in an attempt to
walk off the gelato
"Bench Man"
One of the more interesting iconic
people you see daily in Kihei
He is always sitting on this exact bench, pondering life.
Again with the colorful flora
on another Maui stroll
Thursday dinner at Coconut's
This is one of our go-to dining spots in Kihei.
Another round of seafood pasta
for me and some fish tacos
for Laurie
The pasta was quite good but not Luciano's Seafood Pasta great.
Laurie was happy with her tacos as we concluded another fabulous day in Maui.
ALOHA!
