A Wrestling Match and a EuroBall Talk

Tuesday, December 4 - Thursday, December 6, 2018

A rainy few days in Camarillo led to some wholesome indoor activities, but first . . .

 Isn't that the ABSOLUTE truth!

On Tuesday night I headed over to Rio Mesa High School to join son Michael and grandson Jacob to watch the Spartans wrestle the Panthers team from Newbury Park High School.

 The J.V.s were up first

At this particular J.V. weight class, both schools were represented by female wrestlers.

When the J.V. matches were concluded, all of the lights were turned off in the Spartans' gym except for the powerful mat light.

It made for GREAT atmosphere!

The wonderful thing at the core
of wrestling is the one-on-one,
mano-a-mano of it all

It's hard to blame anyone but yourself in this no excuses sport plus it is a great sport for all American football players to improve their balance, leverage and toughness.

 Time for another EuroBall introduction
talk to a group of Kingsmen Seniors

This was the day for my annual drive up to Thousand Oaks to visit CLU to talk to any and all of their Seniors who had any interest in playing overseas.

Celebrating Cal Lutheran's
long time American football coach
Bob Shoup

His 1971 team won the N.A.I.A. National Championship

 Celebrating the great game of
American football in general

I loved this sign in the CLU locker room

The three Kingsmen Seniors
who wanted to hear about extending
their careers playing abroad

We had a good session and hopefully all three of these young men will get a chance to experience the cultural joys of playing in EuroBall.

Now if I could just find an enemy's skull . . .
