The Door
by
Georges Simenon
Simenon is usually thought of as a great French mystery writer. This intriguing work is a psychological look at a post-WWII French soldier trying to cope with his marriage after losing both hands while tripping a German land mine.
Set in Paris, this is a story about jealousy and self-doubt with just enough talk about life in the French capitol to make me want to order a café and a pain chocolate.
