And the Beat Goes On . . .

Thursday, 19 March, 2020

Italian Lockdown Day XI was also a special day here on the peninsula.

March 19th is the Feast Day of St. Joseph and, in Italy, that means that it is logically honored as Father's Day.

Happy Father's Day to all of
my Italian friends who qualify

I especially want to congratulate Skorpions Defensive Lineman Nicola Ruggiero who is celebrating his first real Festa del Papà, thanks of course to his wife Vanessa and his seven month old son, Gabriele.

The latest Coronavirus statistics
for Lombardia were not encouraging

Although Varese ranks relatively low on this list of infected patients in Lombardia's major cities, the figure of 234 infections is up from the five mentioned on a similar chart about a week ago.

And then there were these two new headlines . . .

Being ranked #1 is not a good thing

Holy Mother of God!

As for me, it was business as usual in The Bunker as I continue to embrace monastic life.

Does anyone have a rocking Gregorian Chant CD to recommend?

Late in the evening, the news here was reporting that Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, in light of these newest statistics, will soon be announcing the continuance of our National Lockdown past his original April 3rd limit.

Understandable.

I mentioned that one of my former Rio Mesa H.S. students, Senerey De Los Santos, is now an award winning journalist working for Santa Barbara's TV station, KEYT. Here is a link to the interview that we had that aired tonight on their 5:00 p.m. newscast.

Life goes on slowly, stay tuned . . .
