Our Boring Life is Interrupted by the Arrival of Friends from Seattle

Wednesday, 15 May, 2019

We had guests arriving at Malpensa Airport late tonight so I spent most of the day engaged in finishing up all of my necessary game day paperwork as the next few days would be hectic to say the least showing them around Lombardia.

Still, we had time to head downtown for a much needed lunch and . . .

. . . the culinary update on today's stage
of the Il Giro d'Italia bicycle race

I also learned today of a new Facebook emoji that I agree with 100%!

ABSOLUTELY correct!

At 10:05 p.m., our guests arrived from Seattle via London.

Meet the Johnsons
Susie and Mark

Our longtime friends and travel mates blew into town for the weekend but will be heading back to the U.K. on Sunday to spend some quality time with their daughter Sophia who is a grad student at prestigious Cambridge University.

These will be an action packed few days to be sure.

Reading is FUNdamental!

This was a laborious read

This was a scholarly book that gave the reader insights into 24 of Italy's most renowned writers including Dante, Boccaccio, Machiavelli, Collodi, Mussolini, Pavese and Tabucchi among many others.

It gave me some great insights to the Italian psyche as seen through the eyes of great Italian literature.

All in all . . .

I liked the day
