Thurs., Sept. 10, 2026 - Part II
A big issue for me, by attending our Thousand Oaks H.S. 50 year football reunion today, was having to miss grandson Jacob's frosh football game today.
Laurie took over my game day photography duties and all credit goes to her for the photos seen in this post.
Ventura H.S. Cougars Frosh (0-1)
at
Camarillo H.S. Scorpions Frosh (1-2)
Artsy shot to start Laurie's day
9/11's 25th somber anniversary
was just a day away
Captains Out
Ventura pounding the Rock
Scorpion DB returning an Interception
Camarillo trying to Turn the Corner
Scorpions Punting . . .
. . . led to Long Snapper Jacob
almost recovering a muffed Punt
Secure that Edge!
A good Camarillo Punt Return
End of the First Quarter
Camarillo 0 - Ventura 0
Looking promising . . .
. . . nearing the Goal Line . . .
TD CAMARILLO!
Another Solid Long Snap by Jacob
I like the Scorpion DL in the
middle collapsing this Cougar OL
Camarillo was Running to the Ball
The visual definition of the phrase,
"Ass Over Tea Kettle"
WR Screens are dangerous
Catch and LONG run for a TD
Halftime Score
Camarillo 13 - Ventura 0
KOR for a TD is a GREAT way
to start the Third Quarter!
Even Coach Martinez was stoked!
The ensuing two-point attempt
was stopped by the Cougars
Scorpions now Kicking Off
I like the Scorpions helmet decal
Ventura Defense still playing hard!
Solid looking Pass Protection
Camarillo Punting . . .
. . . Jacob tackling
The Pit was hectic as usual
Uh-oh . . .
. . . PURSUE . . .
. . . and tackle him at Laurie's feet
Jacob at WR going DEEP!
Unfortunately, the pass landed about ten yards short of him.
Back to the Punting game . . .
. . . Long Snapper Jacob with a
Fumble Recovery this time!
End of the Third Quarter
Camarillo 19 - Ventura 0
Cut . . .
. . . and Slash
Ventura OL Surging
Another one of those potentially
explosive WR Screens
Jacob at DE forcing the ball back inside
Pursuing the ball
Good penetration Jacob
Back to WR one more time
The post-game handshake
is a lot more fun after a WIN!
Final Score
Camarillo (2-2) 19 - Ventura (0-2) 7
All reports led me to believe that the Scorpions controlled the game from start to finish and that Jacob played his best game of the year to date.
AWESOME!
Next Thursday, the Scorpions (2-2) will host the Loyola Cubs (1-1-1).
And when the FIRST football game
of the season was September 25th
I love unusual mascot names

How did the Mallorca Voltors, playing on a Mediterranean Sea island located 130 miles EAST of Barcelona, wind up in the WESTERN Conference?
The Voltors other four Western Conference foes are all based in Madrid, 340 miles away by airplane.
Start fundraising today.
I'm looking forward to this

the Vietnam War
This was our Book Club's read of the month and it was extremely well written.
