Mon.-Thurs., Aug. 24-27, 2026
We enjoyed a really busy four days that were highlighted by a wild Camarillo H.S. Frosh football game on Thursday.
Let's start this post with a review of grandson Jacob's game.

But would it be enough for a win?
Jacob getting in on a tackle on
the ensuing Kickoff
The Musketeers "connected" on a long pass that most spectators saw as clearly incomplete but not the Head Referee.
Time was running out and, trailing by a point, Moorpark opted with a long Field Goal attempt. This was a puzzling decision as they had barely cleared the crossbar on their successful PATs during the game.
A bad long snap turned into a successful Fire Call pass that gave the Musketeers one last play from inside the ten yard line.
It was a BEAUTIFUL night for a
game winning football play!
Here come the Musketeers
TACKLED AT THE TWO YARD LINE,
GAME OVER!
Let the Celebrating begin!
Final Score
Camarillo improves to 1-1 while Moorpark drops to 0-2.
What a fun game to watch!
As for Jacob, I was extremely proud of his effort and execution in this game. He accepted his role as a Special Teams player and did all that he could every time he was on the field.
EXCELLENT!
Jacob and Mary after the game
During this week, as our 1976 Marmonte League Champion Thousand Oaks H.S. football team prepares for its 50 year reunion, I received some fun photographs from Tim Foor who was an OL/DL on that squad.

We also joined a large group
