Viva Las Vegas!
We were off bright and early Thursday morning for the drive to Nevada's biggest city to visit grandson Kevin and his parents Andrew and Jenn for the weekend.
As has become our habit, we drove two hours to our favorite stop in Victorville for a hardy breakfast.

Fully fed to near explosion levels, we eased into Las Vegas after driving another two hours and 45 minutes along Interstate 15.
Our typical weekends in Las Vegas are probably not yours. We don't go to the Strip ever. We just hang out like a family watching TV, playing board-card-video games, making maximum use of the pool/hot tub and dining constantly.
Good times!
Small world news from Barcelona
The European League of Football's Barcelona Dragons named Antony Rodrigues as their Week #1 Defensive Player of the Week.
Back during our 2012-13 season with the French DIII Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons, Antony was one of our Junior team players.
It is so great to see that his passion for the game has taken him to the top of the EuroBall scene.
It Italy, it was Semi-Finals
weekend in the DII playoffs
The #2 seeded Varese Skorpions (6-1) were hosting the #3 seeded Savona Pirates (5-2) on Saturday.
On Sunday, the #4 seeded Bergamo Lions (6-1) would do battle on the road with the #1 seeded Torino Giaguari (7-0).
The live stream was excellent as the
Skorpions were cruising from the start
The Skorpions are Silver Bowl bound!
So are the upset minded Bergamo Lions!
The DII Silver Bowl Championship game
will be played in Milano on June 25th
This will be the third meeting between these two teams that both played in DII's Girone (league) B.
On April 9th in Varese, the Lions prevailed 31-28.
May 15th was the date of the return match in Bergamo where the Skorpions won comfortably, 20-7.
While the Lions have won their two close playoff games by combined scores of 60-44, the Skorpions have been on fire the last two weeks. The Varese playoff victories have come easily with a combined scores of 80-6!
The sports books here in Las Vegas have installed the Skorpions as prohibitive 7 1/2 point favorites.
Did you know that Las Vegas has a Indoor Football League team?
Me neither, until Saturday.
The IFL has 14 teams in their circuit divided into Eastern and Western Conferences.
Saturday, we all attended our first IFL game, a Western Conference tilt as it turned out.

On May 14th in San Diego, the Knight Hawks were the big winners romping over the Strike Force, 68-23.

The NHL Vegas Golden Knights' top minor league team, the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League, also play in this arena.
