Christmas Eve Shopping Mania!

Tuesday, December 24, 2024

Christmas Eve is considered by most to be the worst day of the season to go Christmas shopping, a day fit only for slackers and wastrels.

That describes my current condition to a tee.

Thus, for the first time in my life, I left the house today at 9:00 a.m. with the strong warnings from Laurie that I was in for the most frustrating day of my life.

Not to worry, I was full of the
joyous Holiday Spirit!

This photo we received from our
new Las Vegas family bolstered
my Shopping Spirit as well

So how did it go on this terrible day to shop?

Not bad.

Store #1, Target in Camarillo: I was the second person in line to check out.

Store #2, Samsonite in the Camarillo Premium Outlets: I was the only customer in the store.

Store #3, AT&T in Camarillo: I was greeted instantly by a salesman who took care of my needs.

Store #4, CVS in Camarillo: Now I started to see what Laurie was talking about, I was the THIRD person in line. Anxiety was indeed setting in.

I purchased this Laurie clone
during my stop at CVS

Store #5, Best Buy in Oxnard: Things got a tad sticky here as I was about the sixth person in line to check out. Having to wait a whole FIVE minutes to check out was really beyond the pale!

I finally knew what Laurie was talking about. The 90 minutes that it took me to do all of this shopping surrounded by empty stores and so few fellow procrastinators did indeed unnerve me.

Fortunately, all of my shopping needs had been met and I could now return home to lick my new shopping wounds and endure the "I-told-you-so" looks from Laurie.

It was worth it.

Throughout the day, via Facebook, I received lots of fun Merry Christmas greetings from throughout the world.

So nice of the Rams to think of me
