All good things, unfortunately, must come to an end and today so it was with our latest Euro Adventure.
Laurie wanted some more photos of our rustic, charming Montmartre Air BnB accommodations.
Si, Amore . . .
I liked this wooden cooking space,
but was it safe?
Laurie liked the lighting
in the living room
Since our non-stop French Bee flight to Los Angeles didn't leave from Paris' Orly Airport until 2:50 p.m., we had time to enjoy the morning in the Montmartre one last time.
The view from our sidewalk café
of course included the Sacré-Coeur
Our walk here on a drizzly, damp Parisian morning seemed to be the appropriate weather when departing this amazing city.
A cappuccino and pain au chocolate
for our last breakfast was also
deemed to be appropriate
Seed Packing Grate
One of Paris' many water
fountains for personal use
Art deco Metro stops are
another Paris staple
No idea, I just liked it
100% TRUE!
Is this black mini-flying buttress
holding up this entire building?
The colorful Montmartre neighborhood
More Montmartre color
We were headed to Le Grenier à Pain which was named Paris' best boulangerie about a decade ago. I had first run across the great spot on my first visit to Paris' bohemian 18th arrondissement and wanted to see if their quality was still top notch.
We were greeted by these
fabulous looking pastries
so little time . . .
We were here for some more
croissants and pain au chocolate to
consume on the walk back to our flat
Still an AMAZING boulangerie!
Everyone was happy with these last morsels of French goodness.
Rue des Martyrs
One has to wonder what stories this street could tell if given the chance.
Goat on Board?
I would have loved to see that just once.
Our time was up, time to get a taxi to Orly Airport.
Our 11 hour non-stop
flight was on time
Brian and Koreen were in front of us in seats 31A and 31 C, the window and aisle seats. Laurie and I were in 32A and 32C.
We all lucked out as there was no one in the middle seat in either row. We had room to stretch out a bit more which was really good for me.
We arrived at LAX in one piece
safe and sound
I must say Merci, Grazie, Gracias and Thank You to Laurie, Koreen and Brian for what was a delightful 23 day European Adventure.
I think that we'll all have great memories of shared meals, sights and a Mr. Toad's Wild Ride driving through the streets of Florence all the way up to the Piazza Duomo for a long, long time.
Not bad considering that we spent
half of the day seated on an airliner
But wait, there was one more surprise for us when we started unpacking our bags.
I forgot this bag from our favorite
Montmartre boulangerie that was
still ensconced in my backpack
One last truly French croissant and pain au chocolate to split between us before going to bed at about 8:00 p.m. Thursday Camarillo time which was 5:00 a.m. Paris time.
Our bodies are confused but super happy about past few weeks.
Now it is back to a weekend of high school, college, Camarillo Stingers and NFL football.
Life is GREAT!
