After recovering from the trauma of last night's late entry issues into our Hotel Bologna accommodations, new were ready for new adventures on our journey through the Continent.
At our first breakfast in the Hotel
Bologna we saw this bicycle racing jersey
of our son Michael's favorite team
We then headed to the Marabelli Pasticceria for a second fun breakfast with internet friends that we have never physically met before.
With Julie and Nick Holt
at Marabelli Pasticceria
Julie recently earned First Place in the World Championship for Senior Women of CrossFit.
Nick is the Head Coach of the Varese Skorpions who won the Italian DII Championship last Spring.
Quite the athletic family, don't you think?
They arrived back in Varese this morning from their home in Indiana for a six week training session with the team as they prepare for the rigors of DI football in 2023.
We had a really good meeting with the Holts. Good people indeed!
We were now off by car to our next city, Verona.
We stopped at an Autogrill
and found this amazing machine
What do you think it does?
We arrived in Verona none the worse for wear.

The arena dates from the first century A.D. and could seat 25,000 spectators.
After 2,000 years it still hosts

Nope, it was a wedding day celebration.

We would eventually eat a late
lunch under those umbrellas
Tombs of the ruling Scaligeri Family
Even in death, the people of Verona still had to look up to them.
