I was not feeling my chipper best today, so I stayed in the apartment for most of the day reading and watching game videos once again.
JR Gomez, the Coslada Camioneros Team Photographer, posted some excellent photos today on Facebook from our game last Saturday.
Let's take a look . . .
Our Offense ran off a season high
62 plays which was a plus
We also had no Offensive turnovers, a first this campaign.
We still need to find a way to finish drives with TDs.
RB Casta is really tough
WR Carlos getting cut
This is not looking good
No QB Sacks Allowed this game
was yet another plus for our Offense
WR/DE Ruben is a tremendous player
Greco-Roman wrestling on the right?
Casta trying to turn the corner
Back up QB Gonzalo Rojas completed
his first career pass at the Senior level
in the Fourth Quarter
COLLISION ABOUT TO HAPPEN!
The Coslada RB is EXCELLENT!
We held their RB in check in the First Half
The Second Half was another matter altogether.
Solid Pass Protection
I always love these down-the-line
photos of the Line of Scrimmage
Some BIG men were on the field!
For the Love of God, PURSUE!
We actually held on and got a
four yard tackle for loss on this play
Our Offensive Line knocking
Camioneros to the ground
Of note in this photo, is the referee on the left.
He is none other than Señor Antonio Valverde who lives in Murcia and was one of the best arbiters of the game in the southeast of Spain when I coached the Murcia Cobras a decade ago.
We had a good chat before the game, Antonio is one of the many good people that I have been fortunate to meet while living abroad.
Again with the solid Pass Protection
This PAT would have been good even
if the Goal Posts were not tilted
About to take on the Coslada QB
just before the Halftime break
This may not be legal
I'd like to see our hips closer together
to limit the Pass Rusher's progress
Casta flexing in mid-play
5-on-5
Good pressure on the QB
David is our Punter and he is
improving quickly
In the evening, I needed to do a little shopping and found that it was starting to rain.
This was not a big problem as the two stores I needed to frequent were both close by and about half of my walk would be sheltered from the rain by a good arcade.
I marveled as usual at how many of my fellow walkers were in the arcade but still walked with their umbrellas open.
A strange, redundant look if you ask me.
Reading Is FUNdamental!
I took me some time to read this
book written in Español
It has often been said that the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) was the precursor for World War II.
Is so, the Miner's General Strike and Rebellion in Asturias during October 5-19, 1934 was the precursor to the Spanish Civil War.
Although the bloody, vicious fighting lasted only two weeks, a total of 450 died fighting for the Spanish Republican Government's forces.
The Miners casualties amounted to an estimated 2,000 dead and another 15,000 to 30,000 arrested.
Camus' Mother was Spanish and this short play captured the futility of the class struggle quite well.
The Province of Asturias is
in red in this map of España
We will be back at it with a practice tomorrow night, hopefully the attendance will be good again this week.
